Hibbert records 125th Pro National Snocross career victory

February 6, 2017 – Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck’s Tucker Hibbert recorded his 125th Pro National Snocross career victory Saturday night at round 10 of the ISOC National Snocross tour in Salamanca, N.Y. Hibbert led the milestone race from start to finish in dominating form.

Friday night at the Eastern National, win number 125 eluded Hibbert after he finished a hard-fought second place. Confident in his performance, he entered Saturday determined to get to the top step of the podium.

With 4-2 finishes in his qualifying rounds Saturday night, Hibbert had a seventh start line pick for the 15-rider race. Positioned in the middle of the front row, he launched off the line and into the early lead. Immediately pulling a gap on the rest of the field, he rode 22 laps smooth and in control while dodging ice holes, snow dust and lapped riders. When the checkers flew, he had lapped up to sixth and held a 10-second lead over second place.

The ISOC National Snocross tour now takes a two-weekend break before hitting the final three events of the season. For more information on Hibbert and his race schedule, visit tucker-hibbert.com.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

On winning his 125th Pro National race: “It feels awesome being able to get my 125th win this weekend. We (the team) have been thinking about 125 since we got 100. It’s crazy to have it actually happen now. That’s a lot of races and a lot of great memories.”

On his performance at the Eastern National: “I’m really happy with my finishes in New York getting a first and second in the mains. Unfortunately, it’s bittersweet because I only won one of my qualifiers and so much points are given in the qualifying rounds. Moving forward, I need to really focus on winning my qualifying races to be able to get back on top of the points championship.”

Hibbert finishes fourth at X Games Aspen 2017

January 27, 2017 – Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck’s Tucker Hibbert finished fourth in the Snocross event at X Games Aspen 2017, breaking a gold medal streak he’s held since 2007. The 14-time medalist was fast in practice and qualifying but came up short in the final.

Typically known for its big-air, technical snocross tracks, X Games featured a short track this year with lap times hovering around the 19-second mark. Throughout the race day, the track developed into an icy, one-line course making the holeshot even more critical for a top finish.

In Hibbert’s qualifying race, pileups off the start in the tight, right-hand first corner caused officials to restart the race twice. On the third start, Hibbert was third off the line. In lap six of 15, he made the pass for second and held that position to the end of the race.

In the eight-rider final, Hibbert got a solid jump off the line and made it through the first corner clean to round lap one in fourth place. He pushed hard for 30 laps, looking for a line but struggled to find an option for a clean pass to finish the race where he started, in fourth.

Next up for Hibbert is the fifth stop of the ISOC National Snocross tour in Salamanca, New York. For more information on his schedule, visit tucker-hibbert.com.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

On his results at X Games 2017:

“I’m proud of all the hard work my team and myself put into this event but disappointed in how it ended. Winning at X Games is always a top priority for us.”

“I felt I was riding good but didn’t get great starts which made it really difficult to get the win. It was definitely disappointing to have a really small, easy racetrack compared to previous years at X Games. The short, tight start caused a lot of chaos and pretty much determined the race. Obviously, I had the same opportunity to get a better start and to win the race but it didn’t work out that way. I’m putting this one behind me and focused on the rest of the season.”

Hibbert wins night two at Deadwood Snocross Shootout

January 23, 2017 – Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck’s Tucker Hibbert took home a fourth place finish and a win at rounds seven and eight of the ISOC National Snocross tour in Deadwood, SD. Despite missing the podium Friday, Hibbert had impressive runs both nights on the tight, rough track – something the sold-out Deadwood crowd has come to expect from the 10-time champion.

In Friday’s 14-rider, 24-lap race, Hibbert was buried off the line, rounding lap one in 11th place. Battling heavy roost, he moved around the track, searching for new lines to make clean passes. He charged hard but ran out of time to get to the front, finishing in fourth place.

Saturday night’s final was a drastically different race for Hibbert. He took the holeshot, momentarily got shuffled back to fourth place in turn two’s split lane corner but by the time he exited the next corner, he regained control of the race. With a clear track in front of him, he quickly pulled away and by lap 16 of the 24-lap race, he had a jaw-dropping 16-second lead. He rode the remaining laps smart and in control to take his 124th career win.

Next up for Hibbert is X Games Aspen where he’ll compete for his 10th consecutive gold medal. For more information on his racing, visit tucker-hibbert.com

On his results at the Deadwood Shootout:

“I’m really happy with my rides in the main events. Obviously, I wish I could have won Friday night but moving through the field, I felt good. Saturday night’s main event went about as smooth as it can get. I got a great start, made the pass for the lead on the first lap and was able to pull a big lead. Overall, I’m happy with my performance but disappointed in my qualifying results. Since the qualifiers have bonus points to win, I really need to start winning those races. That’s something I’m focused on turning around.”

On preparing for X Games:

“I got in a solid week of testing in Colorado and feel really dialed-in with my sled. I’m riding as good as ever right now and feel really confident heading into X Games this week.”

On his results at Canterbury Park:

“Getting the win on Sunday was awesome, for sure. We (the team) had a difficult weekend. My results were not great, to say the least. We struggled all weekend to do what we needed to do. Getting the win was a good way to end the weekend and gets us headed in the right direction for the rest of the season.”

On his upcoming races:

“I have mixed feelings about the Deadwood race. I’m not a huge fan of the small track but have had a lot of great races there. I’m looking forward to a good race weekend where I can ride well and make up some points.”

“I love racing at X Games. I’m really excited about the event this year and the opportunity to race for the 10-peat. We’re working super hard and will be ready to put up our best effort.”

Hibbert sweeps Colorado National and takes control of Snocross Championship

December 19, 2016 – Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck’s Tucker Hibbert returned to the top of the podium and took control of the ISOC National Snocross Pro Open Championship in Winter Park, Colo. Hibbert adapted quickly to Colorado Adventure Park’s wild weather, high-elevation and clockwise track to win three of the four qualifying races and both final events.

Heavy snow and high wind gusts forced officials to shorten Friday night’s final from 16 to 12 laps. After an 11th place start in the 15-rider race, Hibbert had a tough road to victory. He wasted no time to start moving through the pack, making many of his passes on the steep uphill section of the track. With five laps to go, he took the lead and continued to lay down fast laps to finish nine seconds ahead of second place.

Weather once again proved to be a major factor Saturday night with sub-zero temperatures creating heavy clouds of snow dust. Knowing visibility would be limited, Hibbert put extra focus into a strong start. He pulled third off the line in the 15-rider, 15-lap race and within in two laps, moved into first. With a clear track in front of him, he opened a 13-second gap over second place and rode smart to the finish to complete the weekend sweep.

Next up for Hibbert is the third stop of the ISOC National Snocross tour in Shakopee, Minn. The Canterbury Park National will feature three days of racing to include the fog make-up race from the season opener in Duluth. For more information his schedule, visit tucker-hibbert.com

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

On his success at the Colorado National:

“I entered the race weekend confident in my preparation and wanting to win. Getting more time on the sled got me comfortable and feeling good again. I got in a decent amount of riding before Duluth but not enough. The team worked really hard to get my sled dialed-in and when you get everything working together the way it should be, that’s when you have successful weekends. That’s exactly what we were able to do in Winter Park.”

On the challenges of racing at altitude and on a clockwise track:

“I think when things are different, I seem to adapt and overcome challenges as good or better than the other riders. That has a lot to do with my experience. I’ve spent a lot of time in Colorado riding, training and racing. I’m comfortable racing at high elevation and know both my fitness and equipment will be tuned-in.”

On taking the Pro Open Championship points lead:

“It feels awesome having success and taking the points lead right before Christmas break. The race schedule really ramps up in the new year so it’s a good position to be in.”

Podium finish for Hibbert at shortened Duluth National Snocross

Nov. 28, 2016 – Tucker Hibbert took a podium finish at the shortened 25th Annual Duluth National over Thanksgiving weekend. Races were completed Friday and Saturday night in Duluth, Minn. before heavy fog rolled in, blanketing Spirit Mountain ski hill. The poor visibility prompted ISOC National Snocross officials to call off Sunday’s races, including round two of the Pro Open class.

The 2016/2017 ISOC National Snocross tour kicked-off Friday night with head-to-head, non-points, bracket racing. Hibbert notched two wins but came up short of racing in the Dominator final.

Saturday featured the first of 17 Pro Open rounds of racing that will be contested this winter for the Pro Open Championship. Hibbert, the defending champion, went 4-3 in his qualifying rounds to qualify ninth for the 15-rider, 18-lap final. In the final, he had a top-five start off the line and knew he had to move quickly to make his way to the front. Fighting heavy, dirty snow roost, a mistake on lap seven set him back a position. With five to go, he moved into third to secure a podium finish.

Hibbert currently sits fifth in the Pro Open points standings, only six points out of first place. The national tour now takes a two-weekend break before hitting a new venue in Winter Park, Colo. December 16-17. For his full snocross schedule, visit tucker-hibbert.com.

NOTE: Day two of the Duluth National has been rescheduled for Sunday, January 8 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

On the shortened race weekend: “It was not a normal race weekend for me and it feels weird to start off the season this way. The first two days were okay but with the third day being cancelled due to fog, it really puts a damper on the kick-off of the season.”

On Saturday’s performance in Pro Open round one: “I’m fairly happy with my results. Having a podium in the main event is good but I want to win races. I’m not completely satisfied but, on the same note, it’s not a terrible place to be. We (the team) have a lot of opportunity to improve – me as a rider and mechanically with the snowmobile. We’re in a good place. Obviously, I’d like to be leading the points but it is what it is. I’m excited about the rest of the season and all the work that’s ahead of us.”
