Tucker Hibbert Sweeps New Yorkā€™s Eastern National Snocross

Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truckā€™s Tucker Hibbert won both Pro Open finals in Salamanca, NY to sweep the ISOC National Snocross tourā€™s Eastern National. For the third consecutive year, Seneca Allegany Casino and Resort pulled in a massive crowd for the tourā€™s only stop east of Michigan.

After racing on a short, tight course in Deadwood, SD, Hibbert was excited to get on the Eastern Nationalā€™s high-speed, technical track. By riding smart and smooth, Hibbert recorded one of his best race weekends of the 2014-2015 season.

Friday night, Hibbert went 2-2 in qualifying to lock down the number one start line pick for the main event. He was quick off the line, took the lead exiting the first turn and never looked back to win the 15-rider, 14-lap final.

Hibbert continued his successful start streak and won both qualifying rounds Saturday night. Despite a solid start in the final, he slotted into fifth place after riding cautiously through the first corner and into the front straightawayā€™s long rhythm section. He spent the next five laps focusing on riding mistake free and making clean passes to get behind holeshot winner and leader, no. 837 Ross Martin. After two laps of closing the gap on Martin, Hibbert made his move in the ā€˜Sā€™ turn and pulled away to take his 102nd Pro National Snocross victory.

Hibbert now holds an 86-point lead in the ISOC Pro Open Championship. After a weekend break, the tour will make its debut stop at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill. February 20-22. Visit tucker-hibbert.com to follow him as he continues to chase his ninth national championship.

ā€œItā€™s nice to have a weekend like this after having a couple rounds of intense racing. It felt good to get a longer, technical track.ā€

ā€œItā€™s always a good time racing in New York. There are some serious snocross fans in the Northeast. One of my favorite parts about this race is that so many people ride their trail sleds to the event. It doesnā€™t get much cooler than that!ā€

ā€œWe (the team) are in a really good position. We have one of the biggest points leads weā€™ve ever had at this point in the season. I know we can continue to make gains but itā€™s good have a buffer in points in case something goes wrong.ā€

Tucker Hibbert rides to heroic 100th Pro National Snocross victory

Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truckā€™s Tucker Hibbert captured his 100th Pro National Snocross victory in a heroic come-from-behind win in Deadwood, SD Saturday night. With an electric crowd packed into the Days of ā€˜76 Rodeo Grounds, Hibbert rallied through the field with blazing speed and determination to record this historic career milestone.

Taking his 99th victory in December, Hibbert fell short of number 100 three straight rounds. He finished 4-2 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn. and came within a sled length of winning Friday night at Deadwood after an aggressive ride.

Hibbert entered Saturday with a fresh focus and drive. He turned the fastest lap in practice, won both qualifying rounds and grabbed the Stud Boy holeshot in the 15-rider, 22-lap main event. Out front early, it momentarily looked as though Hibbert could run away with his 100th win. In turn two, he hit a wall of snow left by a groomer and was rolled on his side ā€“ collecting Tim Tremblay in the process. After struggling to get his sled unlocked from Tremblayā€™s sled, Hibbert reentered the race nearly a lap down and 20 seconds behind the leader.

What happened next, was a downright impressive display of determination and talent. Hibbert charged forward as if no one else was on the short, bullring-style track with him. Lap after lap, he made clean passes ā€“ crushing the gap between him and the race leader. Without a clear idea where he was in the running order, he kept pushing and didnā€™t give-up until he saw the checkers and flames go off on the finish-line jump.

Hibbert now holds a 64-point lead in the ISOC Pro Open Championship. Next up is the Eastern National in Salamanca, NY Feb. 6-7. Visit tucker-hibbert.com to follow him as he continues to chase his ninth national championship.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

ā€œI didnā€™t have a game plan after I crashed (in the opening lap Saturday night) and once I got up, I didnā€™t consciously think ā€˜Iā€™m going to win this race.ā€™ I just put my head down and charged as hard as I could until I got the checkers. I didnā€™t even take time to look at the pit board so I didnā€™t know where I was the entire race.ā€

ā€œI know the crowd was going crazy but I couldnā€™t hear them because I zoned everything out while I was racing. I was totally focused on hitting my lines and on what was right in front of me. It was a different feeling than Friday nightā€™s final. I was riding my own race and going where I wanted to go. You donā€™t feel that good every time youā€™re on the track so it was nice to have that kind of race.ā€

ā€œThe season started awesome by winning the first four then I lost three in a row. The pressure and anticipation for 100 was really building up. Looking back, Iā€™m glad 100 happened the way it did. Iā€™m glad it wasnā€™t a runaway victory. It definitely was frustrating losing those races but I know this is the way it was supposed to happen.ā€

ā€œItā€™s really awesome to have that many wins ā€“ to be able to look backā€¦so many memories, stories. For me, itā€™s never about getting a certain amount of wins or a record. Itā€™s about being the best I can be. Getting 100 wasnā€™t the motivation to win. The motivation was to not lose.ā€

ā€œEvery single race, Iā€™ve learned something ā€“ from each first, second and DNF. Iā€™m thankful for the wins and the times I didnā€™t win. Itā€™s what brought me to where I am now.ā€

Tucker Hibbert wins historic eighth-consecutive X Games Snocross gold medal

Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truckā€™s Tucker Hibbert put on a dominating performance at X Games Aspen 2015 to win a record eighth-consecutive Snocross gold medal. Now with 13 overall medals, heā€™s tied for first on X Gamesā€™ list for the most medals in a single winter discipline.

Typically, the X Games Snocross course features a wide start line, massive big-air jumps and sweeping banked corners but, this year, it was more like a minefield. Riders struggled to find rhythm on the rough, 45-second track. With his sled setup perfected for Aspenā€™s high-elevation, Hibbert relied on his years of experience and fitness to navigate the grueling course.

After winning his qualifying round, Hibbert locked-in the number qualifying position for the ten-rider, 20-lap final event. He once again chose the far inside for the short start straight. A little late on the throttle, he still had a good launch into the sharp right-hand first turn. He drifted wide over the field, avoiding getting tangled with another rider, and shot up the hill. With a clear course in front of him, he rode his own race and was never challenged for the win.

To celebrate winning his eighth-consecutive gold medal by over 20 seconds, Hibbert threw an uncharacteristic trick over the finish line. To honor his first X Games gold medal run in 2000, he threw his legs over his handlebars and executed a near-perfect heelclicker.

Next up for Hibbert is the fifth stop of the ISOC National Snocross tour in Deadwood, SD. With 99 Pro National victories, heā€™ll attempt to capture his 100th win this weekend at the Deadwood Shootout. ā€œIt feels amazing to have eight (gold medals) in a row. We (the team) have been working so hard. Every year, the competition gets stronger. You never know how itā€™s going to go so Iā€™m stoked we came out with another gold. All of our hard work paid off.ā€

ā€œThe track was a lot different this year. It was really rough and changed throughout the race. Because my fitness is really good, I think it played to my advantage.ā€

ā€œIā€™m having a ton of fun racing. The heelclicker was just to do something different. Itā€™s not my style. A couple guys from Monster Energy were teasing me about the heelclicker because I threw one in 2000 when I won my first X Games. I didnā€™t think about it until I was ten feet from the finish. At first I thought Iā€™d do a whip. Then, I remembered I should do a heelclicker. I just went for it. Iā€™m still a little shocked I pulled it off so clean!ā€

ā€œMy team is a huge part of my success. I couldnā€™t do it without them. My sled is amazing. We all push each other to be the best and thatā€™s why we keep winning.ā€

ā€œWe have a lot of racing left to do this season. Weā€™re sitting strong in the ISOC Championship. We need to carry this momentum from X Games into the rest of the season. The celebration will end shortly and weā€™ll put all our focus back into the national series to keep winning races and win the championship.ā€

Hibbert extends points lead at Canterbury Park Snocross National

Despite falling short of reaching the top spot of the podium, Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truckā€™s Tucker Hibbert extended his points lead at the ISOC Canterbury Park Snocross National in Shakopee, Minn. Hibbert gained three points over second place, giving him a 40-point lead in the Pro Open Championship chase.

Entering the Canterbury Park National, Hibbert had his sight set on capturing his 100th career Pro National victory. He was fastest man on the track both Friday and Saturday but poor starts in the finals eluded him of the milestone win.

As the top qualifier Friday night, Hibbert had the first start line pick for the 15-rider, 15-lap final event. He had a solid jump off the line but got pinched in the first corner and shuffled back to eighth place. On a mission to get to the front, he pushed through the pack. On lap nine, he moved into second with leader, Ross Martin, in sight. Closing in on Martin, a bobble on the landing of a jump ejected Hibbert from his sled and left him on the ground. He reentered the race in sixth place and put on a late charge to finish fourth.

Hibbert was the top qualifier for Saturdayā€™s final but once again got a poor start. Rounding lap one in 10th place, he struggled to make passes on the smooth, fast track. Once lines started to develop mid-way through the 15-lap final, he quickly began to make moves. With three laps to go, he passed Tim Tremblay to take over third place and put on a last ditch effort to get his 100th career win. In the final two laps, he chased down and passed Martin but came up short of catching holeshot winner and race leader Kyle Pallin.

The ISOC National Snocross tour now takes a three-week break but thereā€™s no slowing down for Hibbert. Heā€™ll spend the next two weeks in Colorado preparing for X Games Aspen where heā€™ll compete for his eighth consecutive gold medal and 13th overall medal. The event will be broadcast live on ESPN Sunday, January 25.

Ā Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

ā€œWe (the team) definitely were looking for a better weekend than we ended up having. With the success weā€™ve had this year, itā€™s hard to be satisfied with anything less than winning right now. The goal was to win at least one main event to get no. 100 and that didnā€™t happen.ā€

ā€œOverall, the weekend was a success because we extended our points lead in the championship. Iā€™m happy with the way I rode but just came up short. I was riding really strong to come from the back of the pack both nights, especially on Saturday. My speed and fitness are there but I really made it tough on myself not getting good starts in the finals.ā€

ā€œNow, our focus is 100% on X Games. Weā€™re already in Colorado and will spend the next two weeks testing to be prepared to get the eight-peat (eight consecutive gold medals).ā€

Hibbert remains undefeated after rough Fargo Snocross National

Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ramā€™s Tucker Hibbert continued his undefeated streak at rounds three and four of the ISOC National Snocross tour at Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, Minn. despite battling difficult track conditions. Hibbert relied on his years of racing experience to capture his 98th and 99th Pro National victories on the Fargo Nationalā€™s short, rough oval track.

Hibbert had a relatively uneventful night of racing Friday as he convincingly won both qualifying rounds and the final event. Saturday proved to be another story. With temperatures creeping up to the mid-40s Saturday afternoon, the sub 30-second track quickly deteriorated, creating difficult and unpredictable race conditions.

Hibbert went 5-4 in Saturdayā€™s qualifying after two separate incidents left him off his sled and fighting for positions. With a seventh place start line pick for the 15-rider, 23-lap final, he got a solid jump off the line and railed the outside of the first turn to secure an impressive third place start. He pushed hard on the opening laps and quickly took over the lead. With a clear track in front of him, he rode nearly flawless. After pulling a 12-second gap over second place, he backed down and rode cautiously to the finish.

With Hibbertā€™s victories at the Fargo National, heā€™s on track to claim his 100th Pro National win at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn. Jan. 9-10. Follow him as he prepares for this career milestone by visiting www.tucker-hibbert.com and connecting to his social media sites.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram

ā€œIt was difficult racing conditions all weekend. Small tracks really make us (the racers) push hard. Iā€™m not a big fan of tracks like this. The snow conditions magnified how difficult it was. Everything the sled does, it does it more aggressively in wet, heavy snow. Itā€™s really hard to not make mistakes and get the sled to go where you want it to.ā€

ā€œI had two big mistakes in Saturdayā€™s qualifying. The first one with Corin (Todd) was scary. He had a small bobble on the face of the big finish line jump which slowed down his speed. Our lines crossed and I landed on the back of his sled causing us both to go down. Thankfully we werenā€™t seriously injured. The next race, I was leading and when I landed off the same jump, my sled just stuck in the heavy wet snow and I got ejected.ā€

ā€œWhen I got on the line for the final, I put the entire race out of my mind and focused just on the start. Once I got through the first corner clean, I refocused on the race. I need to thank my team and Speedwerx for getting my sled dialed-in because it worked. I had to make a couple passes but once I got in the lead, I was able to find new lines and ride the track the way I wanted to. When I started to get into lapped traffic, I backed it down to make sure I could finish without any issues.ā€

ā€œTo be at 99 wins and going for 100 is really cool but itā€™s just another race. When we (the team) make it happen, obviously itā€™ll be exciting but the main goal is just to keep winning races and building up points to win the championship at the end of the season.ā€

Tucker Hibbert returns to winning ways at Duluth Snocross National

Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truckā€™s Tucker Hibbert returned to his winning ways at the first event of the 2014-2015 ISOC National Snocross tour in Duluth, Minn. Hibbertā€™s raw speed and skillful ability to navigate a snocross course were on full display at the 23rd annual Duluth National as he won all his qualifying rounds and both final events.

In Saturday nightā€™s Pro Open final, Hibbert put on an action-packed show for the record crowd gathered on Spirit Mountain. With a sixth place start, he had his work cut out for him on the tight, big-air track. Known for his expertise to seek out lines, he moved around the track, picking off riders, one-by-one, while gaining time on the leader.Ā  He took over the lead on lap 13 of the 20-lap, 15-rider race, and pushed on to win the first Pro Open final of the season.

Sunday morningā€™s temperature drop and wind sucked the moisture out of the snow, making the top layer of the track light and powdery. Knowing snow dust would be a major battle, Hibbert focused on winning his qualifying rounds to secure a good start line pick for the final event. His strategy paid off. He was second off the line and quickly took the lead. By riding smart, he moved through the snow dust and lapped traffic without an issue to capture his 97th Pro National victory.

The Duluth National will be highlighted during the ISOC Snocross special on CBS Sunday, December 7 after the NFL game. The full races will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network December 14 and 21. Next up for Hibbert is his ā€œhomeā€ race in Glyndon, Minn. December 12-13. VisitĀ tucker-hibbert.comĀ to view his complete race schedule.Ā

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

ā€œIā€™m really excited about my performance at Duluth. I didnā€™t have nearly as much preseason ride time as I did last season before Duluth so I wasnā€™t totally comfortable and dialed-in. Being able to get the wins and have the weekend we(the team) did is rewarding. Weā€™ve been working really hard with the time weā€™ve had on snow and it worked out.ā€

ā€œI didnā€™t get the greatest starts, especially in Saturdayā€™s final. I pushed really hard in that race to make sure I got to the lead group as quickly as I could. I knew I had to keep reeling them in to get close enough to make passes and get to the front.ā€

ā€œIt was challenging to pass all weekend. I was in the first heats in all my qualifying rounds so I was on a smooth, groomed track with flat corners. It tough to find lines to pass until the track gets rough and the corners get pushed up. I had to ride smart and work hard to make it happen.ā€

ā€œIā€™m looking forward to the next round and racing close to home. It cuts down on travel time on each end of the race so we can put more time into testing and riding. Plus, itā€™s always fun to have a lot of friends and family at the race cheering me on.ā€
