Hibbert sweeps Canterbury Park Snocross and extends points lead

Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck’s Tucker Hibbert swept rounds five and six of the ISOC National Snocross tour in Shakopee, Minn. The nine-time champion excelled on Canterbury Park’s long, technical track and relied on experience to extend his championship points lead.

Hibbert laid down impressive runs in his qualifying rounds and the final Friday night. Despite having to start from the far outside in the final due to ISOC’s new inversion rule, he ripped the Stud Boy holeshot and by lap four of 14, stretched out a six-second lead over second place. With two to go and a 13-second lead, he backed down his pace on the final lap to take the win.

Temperatures dropped below zero Saturday night leaving the course filled with ice edges and holes. Hibbert won his first qualifier but found out the hard way in round two how unpredictable the track was. A nasty crash near the end of the race forced him to run the last chance qualifier (LCQ) race. A win in the LCQ gave him the inside pick on the second row of the 15-rider, 14-lap final. With a clean start, he made passes early to finish lap one in fifth place and with the leader in sight. Staying patient, he moved into second place behind no. 53 Kody Kamm on lap 10. Three laps to go, Kamm crashed leaving the door open for Hibbert to complete the sweep.

Hibbert now has a 32-point lead in the 2015-2016 ISOC National Pro Open Championship points chase. He plans to utilize the weekend off in the ISOC tour to prepare for X Games Aspen where he’ll compete for his ninth consecutive gold medal. Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

“It feels really good to have a weekend like this. After Fargo, we [the team] really put our heads down. I didn’t feel like we were on the top of our game at the first two events of the season. I spent a lot of time riding and testing to get to where I knew I needed to be.”

“I felt awesome Friday night. The track really suited my riding style. It was the longest track we’ve had all season, technical and good for racing. Saturday was a different story. With the cold temps, track conditions changed big time. It was the kind of track that could bite you so you had to be patient. I found that out when I pushed too hard in my second qualifier and got sent to the LCQ. In the final, I was happy to be up with the top three guys after my back row start. I wasn’t comfortable with doing whatever it takes to get the lead. I knew I had to be cautious. I was pushing hard but wasn’t willing to push any harder.”

“The next two weeks our focus will be on preparing for X Games. This year will be different with racing at Deadwood before X Games but we’re ready. It’s going to be a fun!”

Hibbert takes a win at sloppy Fargo National

Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck’s Tucker Hibbert took a win at his home race Saturday night in Glyndon, Minn. Battling unseasonably warm temperatures, Buffalo River Race Park had little snow to work with for the Fargo National but pulled together a small, sloppy sub 30-second racetrack for rounds three and four of the ISOC National Snocross tour.

Hibbert went 1-2 in his qualifying rounds Friday night, making him the number one qualifier for the final event. With ISOC’s new inverted start procedure, he was awarded the final spot on the front row of the 15-rider start line. He got a solid jump but immediately backed off to avoid getting pushed wide in the tight, first corner of the track. Finishing lap one in 11th place, he spent the next 19 laps making passes on a near impassable track to finish fourth.

Saturday, with track conditions continuing to deteriorate, Hibbert struggled in qualifying. Known for his ability to move through the field on any track, he had a hard time making passes while battling poor visibility from the heavy, wet snow roost. Getting out front early in the final would be key to take the top spot of the podium that night.

In the 15-rider, 26-lap final, he rounded the first turn in third place and avoided getting collected in a collision on the front stretch that took out the front two riders. With a clear track in front of him, he pushed hard to cushion his lead early before getting into lappers. Riding smart, he held on to take his 110th pro national win.

Hibbert has a three-weekend break before hitting a busy swing of races in January. For more information on his schedule, visit tucker-hibbert.com.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

“I’ve been racing for a long time and I’m not sure if I’ve ever raced in such poor conditions. Because the snow was so wet and sloppy, the roost was relentless. Even out front, I got roost off my ski tips making it almost impossible to see. I was constantly slowing down to wipe my goggles. I know everyone was battling the same issues but, man, it was bad.”

“I think I made it pretty clear Saturday night on the podium how I feel about the new qualifying rules. It’s a mess and I don’t believe it’s right for our sport.”

“I’m putting the weekend behind me and focusing on what’s ahead. We have a few weekends off before things really pick up. January is a big month with two ISOC events and X Games. It’s no secret that we (the team) put a lot of focus on X Games and this year is no different. I’m excited to keep cranking in the shop and spend more time at the test track before we hit the next stretch of races.”

Hibbert secures points lead with a win at Snocross season opener

Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck’s Tucker Hibbert secured the ISOC National Snocross Pro Open points championship lead with a win at the 2015-2016 season opener in Duluth, Minn. The nine-time champion put his experience to work with a solid win Saturday and heart-pumping race through the pack Sunday.

In front of a maximum capacity crowd, Hibbert pulled off a big win Saturday night. A fifth-place start in the Pro Open final forced him to push hard in the opening laps on Spirit Mountain ski hill’s icy, rough track. Nine laps into he 20-lap, 15-rider final, he made the move on leader no. 324 Kyle Palin and pulled away for the win. It marked his fifth consecutive Duluth National Pro Open victory.

In Sunday’s final, Hibbert got a mid-pack start and spent the first half of the race searching for lines to make passes on the tight track. By the time he moved into second place, front runner, no. 53 Kody Kamm had already stretched out a near a nine-second gap. Navigating through lapped traffic, he consistently chipped away at Kamm’s lead. The final lap, he latched onto Kamm’s rear bumper and it was a fight to the checkers with Hibbert finishing just 0.477 of a second shy of the win.

After a weekend off, the ISOC National Snocross tour returns to action at Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, Minn. December 11-12. For more information on Hibbert and his schedule this winter, visit tucker-hibbert.com.

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck

“I feel like the weekend went really good. Obviously, we (the team) wanted to win both finals but it was a solid weekend. Taking the win Saturday was an awesome to start the season. The hard charge to second place in Sunday’s race was good too. Overall, it was a successful weekend.”

“I didn’t have a plan (to beat Kamm in Sunday’s final). I just focused on catching him. Once I got broke free of lappers and had a clear track in front of me, I closed the gap quick. I charged as hard as I could. It’s disappointing not to win but I’m pumped on my performance.”

“I’m really excited about the weekend off between now and the next race. We (the team) are going to be working super hard at the track and in shop to improve on our weaknesses. The goal is to show up at the next round ready to win and extend our points lead.”

Robert Bosch Tool Corporation to Partner with Tucker Hibbert

Today, Robert Bosch Tool Corporation announced an agreement to partner with snocross racing star Tucker Hibbert for the 2015-2016 season. Hibbert is a 13-time X Games medalist, nine-time U.S national champion and two-time world champion in the sport. Bosch becomes the official power tools sponsor of Hibbert’s Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck team.

Under the agreement, Hibbert and his team will use Bosch power tools exclusively for all maintenance, upgrades and repair of race equipment and facilities. The Bosch logo will appear on Hibbert’s competition snowmobiles, branded apparel and transport vehicle.

“Bosch power tools represents a leadership brand in a tough, competitive industry where winning each day is important,” said David Pizzolato, group manager, Robert Bosch Tool Corporation. “We’re going to align our business with a winner, and there’s no more dominant winner in the U.S. right now than Tucker Hibbert. He represents what our company is all about.”

Snocross is the most popular form of snowmobile racing. Racers routinely hit speeds of up to 60 mph with jump distances exceeding 75 feet. Throughout the winter, snocross races are held at fan-friendly venues across the U.S. and broadcast worldwide.

In 2011, 2014 and 2015, Hibbert earned ESPY Award nominations in the Best Male Action Sports Athlete category. Last winter, he captured his 100th Pro National victory, ninth National Snocross Championship and 13th X Games medal. Hibbert is the second youngest X Games gold medalist, taking his first award at age 15, and has earned the most medals awarded by X Games in a single winter sport.

The Hibbert team was using Bosch power tools prior to the agreement. They cited the brand’s overall quality, but in particular how the company’s cordless tools withstand cold temperatures, yet deliver maximum performance. Bosch lithium-ion batteries are performance rated to -4̊ F.

“We’re excited to welcome Bosch to our team as the official power tools sponsor,” said Hibbert. “Our goal as a team is to work with companies and brands that have the same goals and push to be the best every day. We’ve put Bosch tools to the test and know they can get the job done.”

Dan Ebert Joins Team 68

Dan Ebert has joined Team Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck as Tucker Hibbert’s mechanic for the upcoming snocross season. Ebert will take over Garth Kaufman’s duties and work alongside the team’s crew chief, Kirk Hibbert.

Ebert has deep roots in the snowmobile industry. He began his career racing both snocross and cross-country where he took home many top honors including winning the I-500. Most recently, he served as the crew chief of Team Arctic’s Factory snocross team.

“When I started racing, Kirk was a huge part of my career and has always been a mentor,” Ebert said. “I know I have big shoes to fill with Garth leaving but am looking forward to contributing to the team.”

Ebert is following the footsteps of his father, Russ, who was Tucker’s crew chief throughout much of his amateur career and early years as a professional.

Tucker commented, “Dan has always been a great friend and is one of the smartest guys in the industry. With his experience racing and working on product development, he’ll be a great addition to the team.”

Tucker Hibbert to race the Indiana Ironman Pro Motocross National

Snowmobile snocross champion, Tucker Hibbert, will line-up against the world’s best motocross racers Saturday at the Pro Motocross Championship’s Ironman National in Crawfordsville, Ind. It’ll mark the crossover athlete’s one and only pro motocross event of the summer.

No stranger to two wheels, Hibbert has raced both snocross and motocross at professional level since 2000. Early in his career, he took a brief break from snocross to add being a top-10 Supercross rider to his long list of accomplishments. Now, with his focus back on snocross, he’s won an unprecedented 108 pro national events, 13 X Games medals, nine national titles and two world championships.

Hibbert had five pro motocross events on his schedule this summer but an ankle injury sustained in June sidelined him from racing until now.

Look for Hibbert at the Ironman National on the no. 685 KTM in the 450-class. Racing action from Indiana will be streamed live on promotocross.com. Additionally, fans can watch the first motos on MavTV from 1 to 3 p.m. ET and the second motos on NBCSN beginning at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Tucker Hibbert – #685

“This summer didn’t play out how I hoped but I’m healthy and ready to race. I made the switch to KTM and felt comfortable on the bike right away. Early June, I knew I was ready to race so I signed-up for Budds Creek. A couple days later, I came up short on a big jump and broke my ankle. It was a bummer but I knew if I worked hard I could still get in at least one national before the end of the summer.

People ask me all the time why I race motocross but it’s just a part of who I am. I love to ride and know it makes me an all-around better athlete. Snocross and motocross aren’t as similar as people might think. Snocross is more like Supercross – short, intense races. Motocross is a whole different animal. Add the heat, for a guy like me who’s used to racing in sub-zero temps, and it’s really tough.

This will be my first time at Indiana so I don’t know what to expect. I feel good but since I haven’t been racing this summer, it’s hard to set any goals. I’m focused on doing my best and having some fun.”
